ABOUT
My name is Taylor Hutchison and I am a Fort Lewis College Alum, BA in Journalism and Multimedia Studies, cum laude. There, I was the managing editor of The Independent, FLC’s student-run news organization. I reported stories to support justice and fairness for FLC students and the community and worked with reporters to edit their stories.
During college, I was a communications intern for Colorado DOT, where I wrote and edited newsletters and press releases and posted on social media. I was an intern for Rocky Mountain PBS, where I wrote, produced and directed a documentary to air on Colorado Experience and a short film on RMPBS.org.
After college, I was an intern for NPR and produced and edited pieces for broadcast on Weekend All Things Considered and Weekend Edition. Then, I was a News Assistant and continued producing and editing pieces for broadcast on All Things Considered.
Now, I am a Production Assistant for Intake, Audio Production and Wild Card. After work, you can find me cracking open a cookbook and trying a recipe for dinner, then practicing yoga and mindfulness. On weekends, I like shopping at thrift stores and buying vintage and Y2K clothing. I am also a dog mom, and I regularly work with a dog trainer to help my dog with separation anxiety.
I look forward to continuing my career and affecting political and social change through multimedia journalism.
